Long-Term Effects of Gestational Diabetes on Baby. The baby can also experience long term effect. The baby may have obesity problem and this condition is pretty well recognized since long time ago. The baby can also have a higher risk to suffer from type 2 diabetes. The risk of this health problem is getting higher due to the obesity problem. There is no question that the mother really have to control their gestational diabetes because there is the possibility that their baby will experience disability of learning if they control the gestational diabetes poorly.
